After the great Mayweather fight in Las Vegas, client Bikini Brigade LA headed back home. The ladies worked the fight as ring girls, modeled and promoted products at the Supercross finals, and got to attend hot new club Hakkasan where Calvin Harris and Tiesto performed. They even ran in to Neil Patrick Harris!
At the supercross finals, client Jeremy McGrath was able to reveal the winner of his $20,000 scholarship. It was Alex Northcutt, who will use the money to further his education and pursue his dreams of working within the motorcycle/ motocross industry. Congrats, Alex!
The LAPR social media and events team treated themselves to a night out to celebrate the anniversary of the London Hotel in WeHo. It was a great event with some old friends and some new opportunities.
Lynch Archer then celebrated Mother’s Day! A great reminder to thank all our clients, clients’ wives, and our own moms for always being there for support.
LAPR was delighted to be invited back to ESPN’s Sports Nation with client Matt Barnes. He was even in-studio for their surprise Taco Tuesday skit, where Matt got to chow down on a taco during the commercial break.
Though Matt suffered a great loss already in this playoff season, he was able to make an impressive 30 points in his last game. He has spent the last few weeks opening up to the media about his future as an NBA player and the future of the LA Clippers team. He will be a free agent this summer, but has made it known that he and his family love LA. Being a UCLA grad, Barnes has strong roots in the area. CEO Cheryl was in NYC for the TV upfronts. She and the LAPR team will attend several meetings with potential clients along with helming some network duties.

The WME Tennis Classic is finally just around the corner! The annual event lets us catch up with old friends from the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Center. LAPR loves to do charitable events with them, as theirs is a great cause that helps children with cancer. The tennis classic will feature many celebrities who will come out for a day of doubles tennis in the sun.
Other than TV pitching in NYC and Hollywood events in LA, the team has their sights set on plenty more to keep them busy in the next few weeks including Cannes Film Festival, Billboard Music Awards, ESPYs, the Fast and the Furious premiere, The Hangover premiere, and much more!
Online PR News – April-2013 –LA Clippers forward Matt Barnes is on a hot streak both on and off the court. After earning 12 points and shooting 83% against the LA Lakers Sunday before last, Barnes helped the Clippers make franchise history with the team winning it’s first ever Pacific Division title.
Among his achievements on the court, Barnes has averaged 11 points per game in his last 7 games, all of which have been wins for the Clippers. Barnes has also been focusing his energy toward his philanthropic endeavors – a non-profit organization he founded, Athletes Vs. Cancer, has just revamped and launched it’s new website, www.athletesversuscancer.org and joined an exciting collaboration with the artistic genius of Art Mobb.
In an effort to continually raise funding for the foundation, Barnes’ collaboration with Art Mobb has the proceeds from the sales of limited edition Matt Barnes T-shirts going directly to Athletes Versus Cancer. Also, any of Barnes’ shirts ordered through www.artmobb.com until April 20 will be hand signed by Matt himself as a thank you to fans and supporters.
Athletes Vs. Cancer was created to pay homage to Barnes’ late Mother, Ann, who passed from cancer just 26 days after her initial diagnosis. The foundation is recently gaining momentum, receiving $1,000 donation from the television show Home & Family on the Hallmark channel, as well as from viewers inspired by Barnes’ personal story he shared on the show.
Barnes also re-launched his personal website – www.mattbarnes22.com. The site features everything up-to-date on Barnes – from his Annual EA Sports Basketball Camp news to the exciting Hollywood events and film premieres Barnes attends when off the court.
The Clippers start the playoff season against the Memphis Grizzles at home Saturday.

The madness began with Matt’s first interview with Extra at The Grove. Matt was really great with all his fans, stopping to take pictures and sign autographs with kids and adults alike.

The show went great! Maria interviewed both Matt and Steve Nash of the Los Angeles Clippers about the big game Sunday (which the Clips wound up winning, woo!) and Matt got in some air time for his foundation Athletes vs Cancer as well.

The two also had a little shoot-out, whoever could make the most baskets into the arcade basketball hoops in 30 seconds won, and they pulled two fans in with them.

The next day Matt had to wake up bright early to phone into KROQ’s morning show with Kevin & Bean on Friday! While it was really early (7:35am), Matt did excellent and cracked some jokes with the shows host and producer who were Lakers and Clippers fans and joked about Matt throwing the game last Sunday and what it means to be a Clipper now.

Afterwards Matt had the whole day off Saturday after practicing for the big game Sunday against the Lakers! He spent it with his wife Gloria Govan, and twin sons Isaiah and Carter.

And of course after a lovely day off Saturday, Matt rested up for the big game versus the Lakers on Sunday! It was an exciting and great game, but the chemistry of the Clippers ultimately beat the Lakers, officially make the Los Angeles Clippers Pacific Division champs for the first time in franchise history! We are so proud of Matt being on a team making history.

And the work wasn’t over for Matt! Monday we were back on our crazy press schedule with taping Hallmarks Home & Family with both Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan. The two showed up to the set on the Universal lot looking fabulous and did a great job getting into Matt’s foundation, Athletes vs Cancer. They really dove into how his mother’s death and Gloria’s parents being cancer survivors motivated them to start the foundation and zoned in on a side of Matt many of us haven’t seen.

Home & Family also surprised Matt and Gloria with an opportunity. They gave Matt 5 chances to make the ball from half court and if he made it, they would donate $1,000 to Athletes vs Cancer! And he made it! So sweet of them and a great surprise for Matt!

After we wrapped Home & Family in Universal, it was off to West LA to have Matt Barnes on Studio 11 LA on Fox! Laura Diaz was excited to have him on the show right off of his amazing game Sunday. They talked about the Clippers great win over the Lakers, what it means to be a Pacific Division champ, and looking ahead to playoffs!

Matt headed straight from practice to his home where Gloria Govan, his kids, and E! News were waiting to interview Matt & Gloria and get footage of them at home with their kids.

It was great to have E! come out to the Barnes’ home and catch Matt in his natural element, with his wife and kids at home, being an amazing father and husband. It was a really personal piece and we are excited to see the results!

After a long shooting day, everyone rested up a bit before one last final check mark on our media schedule, the 42 premiere at TCL Chinese Theater!

It was also one of the most hectic times for the offices, not to say it didn’t all pay off in the end!
It may seem like the Academy Awards are just a one-night celebration of the achievements of the biggest and best in the film industry, but that is definitely not the case. CEO Cheryl Lynch and LAPR staff started planning out the hectic season months in advance.
Pre-Oscar parties, gifting suites, and other celebrations begin as early as two weeks before the show and they kick into full gear the week leading up to the big night.
For LAPR, it all began with the Roger Neal Style Hollywood gifting suite at L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills with Gloria Govan (Basketball Wives LA). While it was complete madness for us getting Gloria around the ballroom to all the vendors and media wanting her picture, she definitely enjoyed herself, and all the free swag!
The first stop was the press line to grab photos of Gloria Govan and Lynch Archer CEO Cheryl Lynch arriving to the Oscars gifting suite.

After the madness of the gifting suite and Gloria making out with some awesome goodies including the bracelets and Chambord bottle pictured above, as well as cigars and some awesome fashion accessories, our day was not over!
LAPR also checked out the Red Carpet Celebrity Retreat at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills and walked away with some awesome gifts.

And after a long day of getting our clients Oscar ready, our work wasn’t done yet! Gloria took off for a dress fitting (thanks to hubby Matt Barnes) for her special birthday celebration at the Roxbury in Hollywood the same night!
So the LAPR staff headed to Hollywood to celebrate in style. It was an amazing night, but we wouldn’t expect any less from this power couple! Tables, bottle service, and friends of the two including DeAndre Jordan (LA Clippers), Andre Johnson (Houston Texans), Chauncey Billups (LA Clippers), Christina Milian and Lil’ Twist of Young Money Entertainment (YMCMB) all showed up to wish Gloria Govan a Happy Birthday!

And this leads us up to the Friday before the Oscars when things really started picking up! Lynch Archer PR Entertainment clients were invited to some of the hottest Pre-Oscar parties including Global Green USA’s green carpet event at the Avalon in Hollywood, OK! Magazine’s special event at The Emerson Theater, Norby Walter’s Night of 100 Stars Oscar viewing party, and the Elton John Foundation’s exclusive Oscars after-party!
Not to mention, in-between all of that, our client Quest Nutrition made a special appearance at the infamous Razzie’s Saturday night!

All-in-all it was a very long but very rewarding Oscars 2013 award season for Lynch Archer PR and our clients! Until next year everyone!
