Matt Barnes Named Clippers Defensive Player of the Year by Fans
Lynch Archer PR client Matt Barnes, small forward of the Los Angeles Clippers, was honored this week by the LAC organization as a standout player. The Defensive Player of the Year award goes to Matt, who will be a free agent this summer, and who ended this past season on a positive note with 30 points in the playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
From the Clippers website:
Barnes, who signed a one-year deal with the Clippers last summer, was a key to the frenetic defense that led the NBA in steals. He averaged 10.2 minutes in the fourth quarter, second on the team to Jamal Crawford’s 10.5, and averaged a steal per game. He was excellent at funneling ball-handlers to the back line of the defense, was tenacious, tough and exemplified the “defense leads to offense” philosophy the Clippers often talked about with his seemingly endless stamina, running the floor on steals and misses.
In March, former Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said, “He does a nice job running the court. He has a good edge to him on the defensive end. He rebounds the ball pretty well, at a pretty good rate for his position. He just brings a lot to the table.”
Barnes is as tough as they come.

Congratulations, Matt!
In other Matt news, Matt and wife Gloria Govan attended the Spike TV Guys Choice awards this week, which is set to air tomorrow, June 12, 2013. In attendance were such names as Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Buzz Aldrin, Chrissy Teigen, Jamie Foxx, Andy Samberg, and many more. It was a great, star-studded event with tons of jokes by the award presenters, live animals, and live music by Snoop Dogg and Questlove of the Roots.

Big news in Motocross over the weekend!
The 97th running of the Indianapolis 500 took place Sunday, May 26th, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The race consists of Thirty-three IZOD IndyCar Series driving the 500 mile, 200 lap race. Troy Lee Designs was the company of choice for custom helmet design and paint to some of the world’s fastest racers participating in this legendary event.
Seven-time Supercross champion, Jeremy McGrath also has a sucessful weekend at the Southern California stop of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. The race began with a rough start as he had to end his race early on Saturday due to issues with his oil pump belt. But McGrath finished strong on Sunday after the Stronghold Motorsports crew made some quick fixes, placing The Water Warden/Loctite #2 Pro 2 up to 4rd place.

Spring Activities: Giving Back
Hi Everyone!
The weather here in LA has been great, and this week we even got a little sunburn!
Last weekend, Lynch Archer was honored to participate in 2 great charitable events. The first was Walk to Africa.
There was a great turnout of participants of all ages and races at the walk which started at a park in Santa Monica.
There were fun games for the kids and many sponsors donated great products for the participants. The Walk to Africa raises awareness of the need for medical missions to Africa and provides funds for Lighthouse Medical Missions. You can learn more about them here: http://walktoafrica.dojiggy.com/ng/index.cfm/a6326d/regPages/pages/?p=101296
The second event for LAPR was the WME Tennis Tournament.
The annual event raises funds for the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Center. You can learn more about the foundation, which helps children with cancer, here: http://bogartfoundation.org/
LAPR was happy to ensure both healthy events were provided with RedBull energy drinks and Quest Nutrition protein bars. Thanks, RedBull and Quest!
Than you to Asics, Riviera Country Club, and Coco Libre as well!
Both events were a joy to be a part of.
If you would like to be a part of the Walk to Africa or WME Tennis Tournament next year, please let us know! They support great causes.
